Accommodation Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Pirongia's Traveller's Accommodation and Mountain Folk Cafe Retreat. By booking and staying with us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions, which ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.


1. Bookings & Payments

  • All bookings require full payment at the time of reservation unless otherwise agreed.
  • Prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST.
  • We accept payments via credit/debit card (cash only by prior arrangement).
  • Guests making bookings must be 18 years or older, and be present during your stay.
  • NZMCA Member Discount: Please contact us to receive the 20% discount code to use during the checkout process. You will be required to present your membership card to the custodian on arrival. Note: This discount is only available for short stays (7 days or less).

2. Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: From 12:00 PM onwards. Late arrivals should notify the custodian in advance.
  • Check-out: By 11:00 AM on the day of departure.
  • Late check-outs may be available upon request but are subject to availability and may incur an additional fee.

3. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • More than 7 days before arrival: Full refund, minus a $10 administration fee.
  • 3–7 days before arrival: 50% refund of the total booking amount.
  • Less than 72 hours before arrival or no-show: No refund.
  • Refunds may take up to 14 days to process.

Modifications & Early Departures

  • Date changes are allowed (subject to availability) if requested at least 72 hours before arrival.

Weather-Related Cancellations

  • There are no refunds for cancellations due to bad weather unless we are officially closed due to severe weather conditions.

For any cancellations, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible.


4. Park Rules & Guest Conduct

  • Quiet hours are from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM – please respect other guests.
  • Speed limit within the park is 10 km/h.
  • Campfires are not permitted.
  • All rubbish and recycling must be disposed of in the bins provided besides the cafe.
  • Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash and cleaned up after.
  • No excessive noise, loud music, or disruptive behaviour is allowed.
  • Management reserves the right to immediately evict any guest who breaches these rules without a refund, and you may incur a towing fee if required.

5. Facilities & Services

  • Guests are responsible for keeping communal facilities clean and tidy.
  • Showers and toilets are available for registered guests only.

6. Liability & Indemnity

  • All guests stay at their own risk. Mountain Folk Ltd is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage to personal property or vehicles.
  • Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the park’s property and facilities.
  • Any illegal activity or violation of these terms may result in eviction from the park without a refund, and you may incur a towing fee if required.

7. Privacy Policy

  • Personal information collected during booking is used solely for reservation purposes and is not shared with third parties.
  • Guests consent to the possible use of photographs taken in public areas for promotional purposes unless they explicitly opt out.
